Overview
It is the primary responsibility of the Joint Industry Board of the Electrical Industry's Payroll Department to provide superior and accurate pay related services to all employees. Our dedicated professionals are here to assist you.
The Payroll Department prepares and distributes payroll in a timely and accurate manner with strict adherence to collective bargaining agreement(s), as well as wage and IRS tax regulations. The Department provides reports, earnings information, and other pay related data on a regular basis.
JIB Payroll - General Information
Pay date: Friday of each week.
Overtime sheets are due to payroll the Monday following the week the overtime hours are worked.
Any overtime received after the Monday deadline will be included in the subsequent regularly scheduled payroll.
Employees with direct deposit will have the funds deposited in their accounts by Thursday of each week.
Changes to JIB 401(k) election form will be reflected on employee payroll within one or two weeks.
Changes to DSP 401(k) election form will be reflected on employee payroll within one or two weeks.
Changes to IRS Forms W-4 and NYS IT-2104 will be reflected on employee payroll within one or two weeks.
Changes to Direct Deposit must be given to payroll by Monday and will become effective on the following Thursday payroll. New hires are subject to a waiting period for direct deposit eligibility, waiting period to be determined by Human Resources.
W-2 Information
W-2 Form
The W-2 form is the form that an employer must send to an employee and the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) at the end of each year. The W-2 form is the official Wage and Tax Statement that reports an employee's annual wages and the amount of taxes withheld from their paycheck.W-2 forms will be postmarked by the due date of January 31st.
Employees are subject to the following payroll deductions:
FICA - Social Security Tax 6.2% – Taxable wage base $176,100
FICA - Medicare Tax 1.45% – No wage base limit
Federal Withholding Tax
NYS Withholding Tax (NYS residents)
NYC Withholding Tax (NYC residents)
NYS Disability Insurance - $0.60 per week
Paid Family Leave – 0.388% of gross wages - maximum annual contribution is $354.53
Local 153 Members - $11.19 per week Union Dues
Local 3 Security Personnel - $27.80 per month deducted first payroll of each month.
Local 3 Maintenance Personnel in the Host division - $29.70 per month deducted third payroll of each month.
Parking and Transportation Benefits
Employees enrolled in parking and transportation benefits will have the following payroll deductions withheld:
Transit check - (Transportation and commuter benefit - Pre tax deduction)
Parking – Monthly at JIB - $10.00 per month

Deferred Salary Plans
Employees may participate in the following deferred salary plans and have voluntary deductions.
Note: JIB401(k) and JIB Roth contributions may be combined up to the 2025 IRS limits
JIB 401(k) plan – 2025 limits of $23,500 employee – (defer pre-tax contribution)
JIB 401(k) plan – 2025 catch-up contribution limits of $7,500 (defer pre-tax contribution) for employees over age 50
JIB 401(k) DSP – 2025 limits of $23,500 employee – (defer pre-tax contribution)
JIB 401(k) DSP – 2025 catch-up contribution limits of $7,500 (defer pre-tax contribution) for employees over age 50
JIB 401(k) Roth plan – 2025 limits of $23,500 employee – (defer contribution)
JIB 401(k) Roth plan – 2025 catch-up contribution limits of $7,500 (defer contributions) for employees over age 50
JIB 401(k) DSP – Local 3 Maintenance personnel will contribute a minimum of 1% to the DSP.
JIB 401(k) DSP – Local 3 Security personnel will contribute a minimum of 1% of their gross taxable wages to the DSP. Employees may elect to make a salary deferral or an after tax Roth contribution.
