Effective immediately, Local Union No. 3 Members may sign-up for JIB Text & Email. Read the FAQ below for an overview of the program, in preparation for any potential questions a Member may have.
- What is the JIB Email/Text program?
The JIB Email/Text program is a safe, quick, convenient way for Local Union No. 3 Members to receive emails and/or text messages from the JIB, with meaningful information on the following and more:
- Plan information
- Employment
- Training & Safety notices
- Class offerings, confirmations and reminders
- Industry News & Events
- Building closings
- How can a Member sign-up?
By visiting jibei.org/signup and filling out the form.
- Is it safe and secure?
Yes.
- Will the JIB ever send sensitive information via email and text?
Social security numbers, individual financial records, individual health records, HIPPA related materials and specific account details/records of the Member will never be sent via email and/or text message.
- What are the differences between General, Plan and Personal information?
General information includes items such as newsletters, building closures, and Industry events and news that are relevant to an entire group.
Plan information includes Summary Plan Descriptions, Summary Annual Reports, Material Modifications and more information about that Plan. It does not include any information whatsoever about the individual Member’s account within the Plan i.e. funds, records, ID numbers etc.
Personal Information includes notices of employment, training requirements, classes, and appointments. It is permission to send information about notices pertinent to the individual Member, however, it does not and will never include the Member’s Social Security numbers, financial records, health records, and specific account details/records.
- Can a Member sign-up over the phone?
No.
- Will the JIB share a Member’s information?
No. The Joint Industry Board of The Electrical Industry will not share your information.
- How can a Member change/update their email address and mobile number?
By visiting jibei.org/signup and signing up again with the updated information.
- How can a Member unsubscribe?
By visiting jibei.org/signup and clicking unsubscribe at the bottom of the page.
